We enjoy getting to know everyone who walks through our doors, so we thought you may like to know a little bit more about those behind the counter here at the Bakehouse! Each month we'll feature a member of our team, share a little bit about them, and how they made their way to the Bakehouse. Without further ado, please meet this month's featured team member, Franklin Bakehouse’s outstanding Executive Chef, Cameron Caldwell!

Share a little about yourself:

I’m just a guy from Missouri. Trying to spend my time doing something I enjoy and I enjoy everything I do here. I have been working at the Bakehouse for a year and 22 days. I manage all our prep cooks and make sure all of our dishes (savory i.e. salads, to-go meals, not pastries) come out on time and are up to Angie’s standards. We make sure that that the flavors our customers have fallen in love with are consistent and perfect every single day.

What is your favorite part about working at the Bakehouse?

My favorite part of working at the Bakehouse is that I get to constantly be moving. I cannot sit still. Angie has allowed me to have the chance to really get creative and try new things in the kitchen and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.

Why did you want to join the team?

I joined the Bakehouse immediately after I finished culinary school. After listening to how passionate Angie was about this, and why she does this… I knew I had to join and help however I could. I wanted to be a part of something that had soul and meaning and honestly this place has that. It’s like she always says, we are here to serve. To give back to the community in the best way we know how.

What is your favorite Bakehouse menu item?

My favorite Bakehouse menu item is the chocolate chip cookie. It’s the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had. I could literally just eat the chocolate chip cookies all day long.

Describe your Bakehouse team in one word:

Sedulous

When you are not at the Bakehouse, what are you up to?

When I’m not working, I’m usually eating cookies, watching the show community, drinking wine, reading books, and painting oil paintings!

Anything else you’d like to mention:

Franklin Bakehouse is more than just an eatery on the corner downtown. Angie’s heart and soul are interwoven throughout this and that has separate us from everyone else. The intention behind everything. The passion and heart that our bread baker Randy brings…. This place is truly special and there’s no other place like it.
